About us
Finance built around the way established businesses actually run
We work with owners, finance directors and their advisers on the funding questions that come with scale: working capital, bank debt, and transactions.
Who we help
SME Business Finance exists for established Australian businesses — broadly those turning over somewhere between $1 million and $50 million a year. They have staff, customers on terms, stock or work in progress, an accountant, and usually a bank relationship that has served them for years. Their funding questions are rarely about starting out. They're about carrying a longer cash cycle, restructuring debt that no longer fits, or funding a transaction: buying a competitor, backing a management team, paying out a partner or handing the business to the next generation.
Those questions don't fit neatly into a product brochure. They need someone who reads a balance sheet, understands why a covenant is tight or a limit was cut, and knows which structure — revolving or term, secured or unsecured, first-ranking or second — suits the situation.
What we arrange
- Property-secured business facilities from $20,000 to $5,000,000 — first mortgages, second mortgages and caveat loans over residential or commercial property.
- Unsecured cash-flow and line-of-credit options for trading businesses, typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.
- Structures for working capital and capex, acquisitions, buy-outs and succession, and refinancing and restructuring bank debt.
Past credit issues and ATO debt considered case by case. All lending is for business purposes only. We don't publish interest rates, because every facility is priced on the business's own security, trading history, purpose and exit; we explain the full cost of a proposed structure before you commit.
How we work
Every enquiry is read by a specialist, not triaged by an algorithm. They call you to understand the position — turnover, the cycle, existing lenders, security, timing — and then tell you plainly what's realistic. If a structure fits, you see it, with its security and all-in cost, before any documents are requested. If it doesn't, we'll say so and, where we can, point you to what would help.
Accountants and advisers are welcome to enquire on a client's behalf. Our working capital cycle calculator and debt service cover calculator are free for anyone preparing a funding conversation, and our guides cover the ratios, forecasts and year-end questions that decide how lenders read a business.
Our commitments
No credit check to enquire
Asking what's possible leaves your credit file untouched. A credit check only comes up once you've chosen to proceed with a specific facility.
No spray-and-pray
Your numbers aren't broadcast to a panel of lenders. One specialist reviews the file and approaches the right funder for the structure.
A specialist, not a queue
A real person reads your enquiry and calls to understand the balance sheet behind it. Accurate form answers let us match you properly first time.
One request in return: please complete the enquiry form accurately — amount, purpose, turnover, existing debt and any property. Precise answers let us match you to the right structure on the first call rather than the third.
